Protein alternatives, low carb, sport and weight management

This issue is all about a great variety of tasty solutions that can give you the perfect protein boost. You’ll also find out more about the relationship between sport, weight and low carb.

Proteins: a powerful and tasty source of energy!

“High protein” is trending right now. In puddings, bread or muesli – more and more high-protein foods are gracing supermarket shelves.

Athletes especially swear by a high-protein diet, as proteins help to maintain and increase muscle mass. Consuming high levels of protein is also said to boost fat burning and the metabolism while stopping raging hunger pangs – particularly when combined with sport.

Are you looking for protein products beyond the traditional protein shakes?

If you’re looking for something high in protein for breakfast, you should definitely take a look at our vegan Protein Pancake Mix. This mix is made from plant-based proteins from rice, lupin and wholemeal oat flour. The high fibre content in the recipe also ticks the box. Enjoy our protein pancake mix, which comes in a neutral or banana flavour.

Our Protein Waffles also offer an ideal way to start the day. As with the pancakes, they also contain a high proportion of fibre. Proteins from milk and egg form the basis of our protein waffles. In addition to the neutral variety, sweet versions are available in vanilla and dark chocolate flavours. Those who prefer a savoury breakfast can grab our bacon and onion flavour.

Not only is our protein pudding good for your muscles, the collagen also improves skin elasticity. Choose from classic vanilla and chocolate, plus lots of other varieties. Why not try our temptingly luscious baked apple variety or our tangy fresh lemon cheesecake flavour?

Another good snack would be one of our fluffy Protein Mug Cakes. All you need is some milk and a microwave to transform this baking mix into a delicious mini cake. Various other flavours such as coconut-blueberry, chocolate-caramel or lemon are also available.

If you find a savoury meal more appealing, then you’ll enjoy our Protein Soups. Based on milk and whey proteins, our tomato soup has an impressively fruity taste. Our mushroom soup is bursting with savoury flavours, and our aromatic asparagus soup rounds off the tasty trio.

If your desired flavour or product isn’t listed, we would be delighted to work together and develop a tailor-made protein product for you!

Did you know...

... that for a food to be described as “high in protein”, or any claim that conveys the same meaning for the consumer, at least 20 % of the energy value of the food must come from protein? To use the term “source of protein”, at least 12 % of the total energy value must be provided by protein.

Sport, weight and low carb: An effective combination

A healthy lifestyle is extremely important for many people, so sport and a well-balanced diet play a major role. The connection between sport, weight management and a low-carb diet has received a great deal of attention over the past few years.

Low carb refers to a diet with a reduced carbohydrate consumption, where healthy fats and proteins are prioritised instead. This approach has lots of benefits, including an improved metabolism, controlling the blood glucose level and promoting sustainable weight loss. By reducing carbohydrates, the body is stimulated into burning more fat, which can result in effective weight loss.

However, it is important to note that not all carbohydrates are equal. “Good” carbohydrates such as vegetables, wholemeal products and legumes should not be excluded entirely from your diet as they contain vital nutrients and contribute to your long-term health. Instead, refined carbohydrates such as sugar, white flour products and highly processed foods should be reduced.

Sport is another important component of losing and maintaining weight in a healthy way. Regular physical activity increases calorie consumption, builds muscle mass and improves your body composition. Sport boosts fat burning and also stimulates the metabolism. Physical activity also increases well-being in general and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disorders and other health-related problems.

The combination of sport and a low-carb diet can be particularly effective in supporting rapid and sustainable weight loss, as well as maintain the desired weight. Low-sugar versions of our protein products can also support these goals.
