Biohealth invests in the future
The Münchberg-based food supplement manufacturer is growing and looking for qualified staff
BHI Biohealth International has launched a comprehensive investment programme of around ten million euros in buildings, equipment and the digitalization of production at its site in Münchberg. The company is thus continuing the positive development of the last 22 years.
"We are always looking for good employees who are interested in the production of dietary supplements and sports nutrition. The products that we produce for our customers worldwide can be found in almost all drugstores from Munich to Hamburg, but they are manufactured regionally in Münchberg," explains Managing Director Dr. Peter Pfeilschifter.
In the coming years, Biohealth will be investing in the training of its employees and in new machines. The investments will be visible to the outside world with the latest extension to the headquarters of BHI Biohealth International. The modern changing rooms and sanitary facilities costing around two million euros will soon be ready for occupation.
"As a food manufacturer, we are subject to the highest hygiene requirements. Our employee changing rooms fulfil a central function: they are not only used to change from private clothing into hygienic area clothing, but also act as a sluice area between the unclean and clean production environment," explains Dr. Peter Pfeilschifter.
"This structure ensures that no contamination is carried into the production areas and that all employees work under controlled conditions."
A PV system will be installed on the roof of the new extension, as Biohealth wants to be able to cover around 70% of its annual electricity consumption from sustainable energy from 2026. With this measure, the Upper Franconian company is taking its responsibility for a sustainable and liveable environment seriously. The digitalization of production and a modern, future-oriented working environment for employees are further components of the corporate strategy:
Over the next two years, 5.5 million euros will be invested in new machinery, which will increase efficiency and capacity in packaging in particular. In the spirit of a "smart factory", one million euros will also be invested in the digitalization of production. Münchberg Mayor Christian Zuber is also pleased with the investments: "BHI is an important company for us, which develops innovative products and offers
future-oriented and diverse jobs in Münchberg. The investments contribute to the positive further development of the company and are a clear commitment to Münchberg as a business location. We as a town and I as mayor are very grateful for this.
BHI also supports clubs and events and therefore promotes voluntary and cultural commitment."
