Experiencing democratic education - an important part of training
At Biohealth, our trainees not only learn the basics of their profession, but also actively engage with current social issues. As a company, we see it as our responsibility to support young people in their democratic and social education.
As part of this initiative, we regularly offer our trainees the opportunity to take part in projects, workshops and exhibitions that deal with socially relevant topics such as migration, democracy or digital media skills. We would like to present the most recently attended activities here.
Workshop on deep fakes & artificial intelligence
Understanding opportunities and risks
How do deep fakes actually work? What opportunities does artificial intelligence offer - and what are the dangers? Our trainees were able to explore these questions in April 2025 in an exciting workshop on the topic of "Deep Fake & AI".
The workshop began with an introduction to how modern AI systems work and the technology behind deep fakes. Participants learned how algorithms can be used to create deceptively real videos and audio that make people say or do things that never happened.
The practical examples from politics, entertainment and social media were particularly impressive. In small groups, the trainees analyzed manipulated videos and learned how to recognize fakes - for example, by unnatural movements or small inconsistencies in the sound. Special tools for detecting deep fakes were also used.
The workshop impressively demonstrated that artificial intelligence offers enormous opportunities, but also entails social responsibility. Our trainees not only gained technical knowledge, but also developed an awareness of the importance of media skills in the digital age.

Visit to the #YOUNIWORTH exhibition
Understanding migration
Another highlight was a visit to the interactive #YOUNIWORTH exhibition in Naila in November 2024, where everything revolved around questions such as:
- How do we want to live together in a diverse society?
 - Why do people leave their homes?
 - What does migration really mean?

Together with trainees from other companies, our trainees exchanged views on personal experiences, social developments and visions for the future. This resulted in exciting discussions and new contacts - a strong sign of openness and tolerance.
Why do we carry out personal development projects?
At a time when disinformation, polarization and social tensions are on the rise, it is more important than ever to empower young people. We want to instill the following values in our trainees beyond their technical training:
- Critical thinking: Questioning information, recognizing fake news.
 - Empathy and a change of perspective: understanding other people's stories
 - Democratic competence: actively participating and taking responsibility.

Our trainees are the skilled workers of tomorrow - and at the same time the people who will help shape our society. By promoting their education beyond the workplace, we are investing in an open, democratic future.
Social responsibility does not end at the warehouse door or in the office. We are convinced that giving young people room for education, exchange and critical thinking not only strengthens the company, but society as a whole.
